1. Where to send a notice
VidMyth LLC respects intellectual property and responds to notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Send copyright notices to our designated agent:
- Copyright Agent, VidMyth LLC
- Email: info@vidmyth.com (subject line: "Copyright notice")
We accept notices from rights owners anywhere, not only in the United States.
2. What a notice must include
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature, as the owner or someone authorized to act for them
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed (or a list, if there are several)
- the material you say infringes and where it is — for a product page, its full address, such as name.vidmyth.com/product
- your name, postal address, phone number and email address
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for them
3. What we do with it
When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable the material — for a product page, we take the page down — and tell the user who published it, with a copy of the notice. An incomplete notice gets a reply telling you what is missing.
Most of what VidMyth generates stays private in its owner's account. A notice is most useful for material that is published: a product page at name.vidmyth.com. For a video published on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok, report it to that platform too.
4. Counter-notices
If your material was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) it must include:
- your physical or electronic signature
- the material that was removed and where it appeared before
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification
- your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where we may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice
We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the material within 10 to 14 business days of receiving the counter-notice.
5. False notices
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for the damages that causes. If you are not sure, ask a lawyer before you send a notice.
6. Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' copyrights, in appropriate circumstances.
7. Trademarks and other claims
For a trademark, impersonation or privacy complaint, email info@vidmyth.com with the details, or use the report form for a product page. We review these against the Acceptable Use Policy.
